Defining a sense of home and sanctuary that is genuinely different for each client requires clever spatial sequencing, a judicious understanding of how colour works, and the ability to interpret the spirit and wishes of individuals. Nikki Bisiker Interior Designs is deeply committed to the detail and finish of its craft, and to professionalism.
A full fit-out with a sophisticated, sumptuous vibe was requested for this freshly constructed home. This was a multi-purpose dwelling. The main reception area was set aside for corporate events.
A family house awaited beyond that region. Luxuriously layering texture and jewel colour, deep mauves and indigo blues with accents of gold and polished natural stone veneers, and glass patina wall treatments were used to create a contemporary-chic, masculine aesthetic for the meeting and gathering room.
Sensational lighting and statement flourishes of furniture, art, and sculpture were incorporated, including a stunning gold leaf work that extended from one ceiling to another. In the family spaces, taupes, off whites, and blue greys were used to create a softer, calmer appearance and palette. The guest rooms were designed in a trendy, beachy style that reflected the sea’s turquoise.
This project involved a complete refurbishment of an Art Deco-era London flat, the first since the 1950s. The aim was to create a bright, airy, elegant, unfussy yet comforting place for several generations of the same family who had been visiting this long-time second home.
Maximizing storage was critical, and the design had to appeal to a variety of family members.
Flooring, walls, storage, ceilings, kitchens and bathrooms, doors, architraves, spatial planning, electrics, air-conditioning, heating, and plumbing all required to be handled to bring the flat into the twenty-first century. New bespoke joinery and furniture pieces, intelligently revised storage and electrical containment, vivid artwork, exquisite Deco details, and the use of mirrors and lighting to maximise space were all part of the transformation of this Art Deco masterpiece.
The outside construction of garages and a gym, as well as ambitious landscaping, were all necessary for this fresh new family house. It was necessary to consider a variety of traditions and styles. The family wanted the formal sitting room, as well as a traditionally American, timber-clad study and a family living area with a lived-in, English Country feel, to represent their Persian background.
The master bedroom needs to be bright, large, and breezy in order to take advantage of the spectacular vista. The spacious stairs and monochrome patterned floor radiated luxury, while architectural lighting highlighted the clients’ paintings, installations, and sculpture.
A melange of Persian, French, and Brazilian art, as well as British sculpture and custom-made furniture, was set against creamy pearl walls. Internal and outdoor lighting combined to produce an attractive, livable, and welcoming atmosphere.
This delightful Arabian Belle Époque-style property, with its subtle, tranquil interiors, was designed in response to a client’s request for a Zen-like beach villa with a minimalist aesthetic. New bedrooms, corridors, and a personal gym were all on the client’s wish list. Everything has to be streamlined, tranquil, light-filled, and relaxing in nature. Other residences they owned across the world took on a more exotic, vivid, and busy look.
They wanted a sleek counterpoint to the other life for this house. The colours were chosen to be peaceful, restful greens, creams, calming apricots, and soft woods. Throws, textured surfaces, candle accessories, floating drapes, natural wood sculptures, and delicate pieces of art all contributed to the softening and invitation to peace. The usage of valuable stones spoke to the origins of the stones.
