DEBORAH WECSELMAN DESIGN: THE FOUNDER

Deborah Wescleman was born and reared in the Peruvian capital of Lima. She received her BFA at Parson’s School of Design in New York. She started her work with Ralph Lauren and rose through the ranks to Senior Director of International Store Design. She was in charge of the design of over 5,000 RL flagship stores and shops around the world during her twelve-year tenure.

Her talent to design high-end, one-of-a-kind interiors led her to Miami, where she started Wecselman Design, a firm known for creating prominent luxury interiors both domestically and globally. Wecselman Design specializes in creating rooms that are classically modern with elements of the past that complement contemporary living, thanks to a seasoned team of professionals, architects, and designers.

MODEL RESIDENCE EMANATES GRACEFUL CONTEMPORARY DESIGN

This quiet retreat welcomes you with floor to ceiling windows and seaside views. Wecselman Design chose a luxuriously modern living space smoothly transitions to the outdoors thanks to tropical wood and natural organic tone finishes combined with contemporary millwork elements. Travelling through the house, you’ll notice vertical walnut beams gracefully swivelling to divide the formal and informal dining areas, while the kitchen’s cold grey quartzite counterbalances the warm tones of handcrafted walnut cabinetry.

A significant architectural element facing the private office with custom millwork meant to conceal storage is an indoor patio adjacent to the cast iron stairway. The master bedroom, located just beyond the main staircase, features an attractive stand-alone tub set against a custom cherry blossom mosaic wall with views of Biscayne Bay.

The home’s unique elements, selected art collection by Emerson Dorsch Gallery, and one-of-a-kind An infinity-edge pool with bright blue mosaic tile overflows into a mirrored pond surrounded by lush flora just beyond a framed view in this 12,000 sq. ft. residence, where perfectly curated artwork compliments the luxurious furnishings.

Inspired by the look

CONTINUUM

This project is an open floor concept with a framed bay view by Wecselman Design. A clean architectural master floor plan was created by combining two units under a comprehensive refurbishment. You’ll be escorted to direct ocean views by black and white images curated alongside a diverse art collection. The right balance in this stylish contemporary home with high-end finishes and details is created by walnut millwork against pure white walls.

A minimalist entrance leads you through the main living and dining areas, where you’ll find handmade fa custom tie-dye rug contrasts with the navy sofa and citrine and tangerine decor facing a handcrafted oak library.

Corners of the brightness of the bedrooms provide quiet relaxation, while the Zebrino marble toilet room excites the senses. Floor to ceiling mystery white marble lighted within custom walnut millwork creates the perfect environment for Miami’s golden hour in the bar, which is next to the family room. This was the last project of Wecselman Design that we show in this article.
